A Little DePal Makes Big Change at Your Mates Brewery
Part 2 of Your Mates production expansion includes more Fibre King equipment. 'How good is it to be back at Your Mates? Just two years after installing a little packer and CCA can carrier applicator, they've now tripled their throughput by replacing their filler and we've now added a small Automatic Depalletiser,' says James Windsor, CEO of Fibre King. In 2021, Fibre King, the top end of line automation manufacturer in Australia, collaborated with Your Mates Brewery to address their packaging bottleneck.

craft brewers conference
After years of constant growth, the US craft beer industry has entered a ‘new normal' pointing to the need for brewers to find new ways to grow through innovation, according to US Brewers Association Chief Economist, Bart Watson. Delivering the keynote speech to open the Craft Brewers Conference in Nashville, Watson said that the craft beer market saw no growth in 2022 and over the last six years average annual growth had been 1.2 per cent. 'Those years of double-digit growth are clearly in the rearview mirror,' he said.

Brewery Automation
Whilst the true promise of AI and machine learning seem to keep being pushed to the horizon, there's no doubt that we leave many things to machines now that would previously have been inconceivable. Cars can do 90% of the steering on a motorway, music tastes are garnered and extrapolated by Spotify, texts and appointments are dictated and we're losing traditional jobs to artificial intelligence. Repetitive tasks are being taken from human hands and being put into the control of PLC's, actuators and relays.

online sales review
The Queensland Government is seeking stakeholder comment on a new draft regulatory framework for online liquor sales and delivery in Queensland. A media release from the Attorney-General and Minister for submissions noted that the state's current legislation for liquor – the Liquor Act 1992 and also the Wine Industry Act 1994 – focuses on ‘bricks and mortar' licensed premises, and does not provide explicit authorisations or harm-minimisation obligations in relation to online liquor sales for delivery.

Procurement and Planning Manager
Mountain Culture Beer Co started as a single, yet stylish brewpub in Katoomba a little over three years ago and has since gone on to become one of Australia's fastest growing breweries (and largest in Western Sydney). To keep up with demand, we've added a state-of-the-art production facility in Emu Plains, capable of pumping out five times more beer. NOW we're also looking for a full-time Procurement and Planning Manager to help us get that beer into the hands of Aussies, and folks further afield.

Content published as an Announcement is produced by the business(es) named in the announcement and remains unedited by Brews News. Following the beer industry's global #MeToo reckoning in 2021, Beer Agents for Change was formed by a group of experienced industry professionals. The group wanted to understand the experiences of those employed in the beer industry in Australia and a survey was undertaken to benchmark the state of the industry. To solve a problem, or to even make changes that will be effective, it is important to continue to quantify and qualify the issues that exist.

About Us Village Brewing Co. is a brand new brewery and taproom set to open in mid-2023 in the Sydney suburb of Gladesville. This is what we're all about: We're for beer. Village Brewing Co. is all about fresh, local beer and good times! Beer is a thing of fragile beauty – so it's always best enjoyed right where it's made. We're for people. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it's that community – the local ‘village' – is more important than ever. Our taproom will provide a welcoming, spacious environment for locals to come together and connect over a few handcrafted brews.

DrinkWise and Queensland Hotels Association are launching new initiatives in regional Qld
Content published as an Announcement is produced by the business(es) named in the announcement and remains unedited by Brews News. DrinkWise and the Queensland Hotels Association (QHA) are launching a new initiative to remind Queenslanders who choose to purchase and drink alcohol about the importance of moderating their alcohol consumption, always being respectful towards others and knowing that support services are there to provide help and advice if needed. This initiative expands upon DrinkWise's education efforts in Queensland, which increased after the organisation's research revealed Queenslanders (34%)* are significantly more likely to be drinking alcohol at risky levels when compared with the nation's average (28%).
