CG Thermal LLC of Twinsburg, Ohio, announced the acquisition of AirBTU Thermal and Engineering Division located in Columbus, Ohio. The acquisition follows the 5-year exclusive technical sales and marketing contract that already existed between the two companies. The President of AirBTU, Jim Shook, will be intimately involved with the engineering and design department of CG Thermal after the acquisition. (Reuters) U.S. pipeline operator Energy Transfer LP said it agreed to supply 2.1 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year to Shell Plc for 20 years. The deal for supplies from its proposed Lake Charles, Louisiana, facility comes as demand and prices for LNG are soaring over Russia's February invasion of Ukraine. Niagara Bottling has announced it plans to invest up to $160 million to establish a state-of-the-art production facility near Hammond. The company will create 70 new direct jobs with an average annual salary of $55,000. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project will result in an additional 100 new indirect jobs, for a total of 170 new jobs in the Southeast Region. The new, highly automated facility will contain advanced equipment and technology that will increase production efficiency to allow the company to meet growing demand.

Cheniere Energy, Inc. announced that Cheniere's subsidiary, Cheniere Marketing International LLP, has entered into a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Korea Southern Power Co. Ltd (KOSPO). Under the SPA, KOSPO has agreed to purchase approximately 400 thousand tonnes per annum of LNG from Cheniere Marketing on a delivered ex-ship basis from 2027 through 2046, with a smaller annual quantity to be delivered starting in 2024. The purchase price for LNG to be delivered under the SPA prior to 2027 will be a market-based price, after which the purchase price will be indexed to the Henry Hub price, plus a fee.

Georgia Power announced that fuel load into the Vogtle Unit 3 reactor core has begun at Plant Vogtle near Waynesboro, Georgia.  The fuel load process marks a historic and pivotal milestone toward startup and commercial operation of the first new nuclear units to be built in the U.S. in more than three decades. Braskem concluded a 30% increase in the production capacity of its bio-based ethylene plant, located in the Petrochemical Complex of Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The $87 million investment aims to meet the growing global demand for sustainable products. The plant now operates at an increased capacity, from 200,000 to 260,000 tons/year. Braskem's bio-based ethylene is made from sustainably sourced, sugarcane-based ethanol which removes CO 2  from the atmosphere and stores it in products for daily use.

(Reuters) Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) and TotalEnergies will join forces to build a new petrochemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. The project involves investment of about $11B, of which $4B will be funded through equity by Aramco (62.5%) and TotalEnergies (37.5%), the statement said. The investment decision is subject to closing conditions and approvals, with construction scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023 and commercial operation targeted for 2027. The planned Amiral complex, integrated with the existing Saudi Arabia Total Refining and Petrochemical (SATORP) refinery located in Jubail on Saudi Arabia's eastern coast, will be owned and operated by Aramco and TotalEnergies.

Freeport LNG Development, L.P. (Freeport LNG) is providing the results of an independent, third-party root cause failure analysis (RCFA) report on the June 8, 2022 incident that occurred at its liquefaction facility. The RCFA report was commissioned by Freeport LNG and independently conducted by a highly qualified incident investigation company, IFO Group, in order to identify the causes underlying the June 8th incident. Over the course of almost five months, IFO Group investigated the incident, collected and analyzed physical specimens from the incident, interviewed witnesses, reviewed process and design data, and ultimately developed the RCFA report, identifying specific causes that led or contributed to the June 8th incident.

The terminal is owned by Texas LNG Brownsville LLC, an affiliate of Glenfarne Energy Transition LLC, a global energy transition company providing solutions to lower the world's carbon footprint.
