Take up of the ACT Government's sustainable household scheme has exceeded 13,000 households. This is nearly ten per cent of all eligible households in the Territory. The program has been a huge success with around $170m in interest free loans committed. Households in Tuggeranong, Belconnen and Gungahlin have been the biggest users of the scheme. The number of households accessing the scheme by region: Tuggeranong: 3,556 Belconnen: 3,378 Gungahlin: 2,843 Woden/Weston Creek/Molonglo: 1,771 Central Canberra: 1065 Rest of ACT: 457 In 2023-24, the Territory Government is focusing on increasing solar take up in multi-unit dwellings with rebates and concessional loans to be made available for the owners of multi-unit developments to install shared rooftop solar systems through a partnership with the Commonwealth Government.
