Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a crash in South Yarra this morning. It is believed a male rider was travelling south along Chapel Street, when he crashed into the back of a Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) police vehicle which was stationary at a red light, about 1.15am on 25 September. The 29-year-old man of an unknown address was immediately assisted by the two male police members and later taken to hospital with serious injuries. The police officers were not injured.
