Kristalina Georgieva (Photo: Boris Baldinger/World Economic Forum/dpa) FRANKFURT, June 17 (Bernama-UPI) -- Economic policies in the European Union (EU) should remain restrictive enough to control consumer-level inflation, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said a day after the European Central Bank (ECB) hiked rates, reported UPI. Inflation has started to decline from historically high levels, but is still well above target, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said.
