G'day, Dr Karl here. This time, I'm taking more about Parkinson's Disease, a neurodegenerative disorder. Neurodegenerative means it affects your ability to control parts of your nervous system. Last time I also mentioned super-sniffer Joy Milne – who, so far, is the only person we know of on Planet Earth who can diagnose Parkinson's Disease with her nose. Parkinson's Disease kills over 100,000 people each year, and currently affects about 8.5 million people worldwide. It's the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer's Disease.
