Zhao Xiaochun, 81, was a cured-meat industry pioneer because he has been promoting local products to the outside world for four decades. "Finding that many outsiders love the taste of our homemade cured meat, I traveled for three days, carrying 2.5 tons of cured meat to the market in Chongqing's Wanzhou District in the 1980s.
