The 14-metre-long aqueduct is located at the 13/260th mile of the Kalingarayan Canal; it is believed to have been constructed by Kongu chieftain Kalingarayan about 740 years ago; the aqueduct was renovated in August 1833 by British engineer C.E. Faber
