Traditional Palio di Siena horses race in SienaItalian jockey Andrea Coghe (R), also known as 'Tempesta' and the horse Vitzichesu running for the 'Drago' contrada, a district of the city, is blessed by a local priest at the contrada's church, ahead of the historical Italian horse race 'Palio di Siena' in Siena, Italy, 16 August 2023. The traditional horse races between the Siena city districts was held 02 July as the 'Palio di Provenzano' on the holiday of the Madonna of Provenzano and on 16 August as the 'Palio dell'Assunta' on the holiday of the Virgin Mary.
