Shadow Home Affairs and Cyber Security Minister James Paterson says immigrants are coming into Australia in 'extraordinary numbers'. Mr Paterson's comments come after the business community warned the government of slowing down migration and the impact it could have. 'By the end of this year, I've been told by people in the industry, it's going to be eye-wateringly high numbers,' Mr Paterson told Sky News Australia. 'For the business community to dismiss the impacts of that on people's rent, on their mortgages on their ability to get into the housing market, is dangerously out of touch for them.
