The prosthetic and rehabilitation center, the only one in Sana'a, is a specialized orthopedic clinic for the treatment and rehabilitation of war victims who are dependent on prosthetic limbs due to amputation or paralysis. It gives monthly extensive courses of physiotherapy and rehabilitation and manufactures prosthetic devices to more than 9,500 amputees and people with some type of disability due to landmines and cluster bombs, shells, airstrikes and other weapons or munitions since the war broke out in Yemen in March 2015 when the Saudi-led coalition launched a military operation against the Houthis, according to recent estimates by the Sana'a-based health ministry.
