Previous reports noted that Punk suffered some sort of injury the night of AEW All Out, when he won the AEW World Championship by defeating Jon Moxley. After the show, he made some heated remarks about Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and the EVPs (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks), which reportedly prompted a physical confrontation between Punk and the latter trio. It had been unclear at what point in the night Punk suffered the injury.
