The government's witness protection program, usually offered to key suspects or witnesses of a crime, was being considered for the family of the suspected gunman in the killing of Oriental Mindoro radioman Cresenciano ‘Cris' Aldovino Bunduquin if this could convince the suspect to finally surrender and reveal the masterminds behind the killing. According to Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) executive director Undersecretary Paul Gutierrez, his office would be willing to intercede with the Department of Justice (DOJ) to consider entering the family of the still at-large suspect under the witness protection program.
