MANILA, Philippines — The Good Friday of Holy Week typically encourages Catholics to ponder upon the suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross, but residents in Barangay Tatalon in Quezon City were made to endure pain as a fire suddenly destroyed their homes during the sacred day. The fire struck the informal settlers area on Friday afternoon, and according to the residents, the fire consumed their homes quickly. A resident who asked not to be named recalled watching the Holy Week mass when people started yelling about a fire.
