The Department of Transportation (DOTr) wants more airports that have the capacity to accommodate evening flights in a bid to spur further mobility, especially at a time when COVID-19 border restrictions have been lifted. Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, in a recent event, said they were working on night-rating six more airports. 'This is to improve the operational capacity and efficiency of these airports,' he explained. The country currently has 25 airports equipped with night flight landing facilities, including airfield lighting systems and air disaster management systems.
