MANILA, Philippines — Michelle Dee of Makati was crowned 2023 Miss Universe Philippines at the culmination of a star-studded program held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Saturday, May 13, and streamed to global audiences on various digital platforms. She edged out 37 other aspirants to inherit the title from last year's winner, Celeste Cortesi, and will now represent the Philippines in the 2023 Miss Universe pageant which will be held in El Salvador later this year. Dee is a daughter of 1979 Miss International Melanie Marquez and was crowned Miss World Philippines in 2019.
