LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—Ilocos Sur Gov. Jeremias 'Jerry' Singson has declared the suspension of classes in private and public schools in all levels and work in public offices on Monday as northern Luzon braced for Super Typhoon Betty (international name: Mawar). In an Executive Order (EO) issued on Saturday, Singson said that the work and class suspension was made as a 'safety measure and in order to minimize the adverse effects and damage' of the super typhoon. The decision to suspend work in private businesses and offices is at the discretion of their respective heads, according to Singson.
