Activity in China's manufacturing sector expanded in September for the second straight month, despite a softening job market and a continuing decline in export orders, a Caixin-sponsored survey showed Sunday. The Caixin China General Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), which gives an independent snapshot of the sector, slid to 50.6 in September from 51 the previous month. An index reading above 50 signals an expansion in activity, while a number below that indicates a contraction.
