Scientists Speed Up Next-Gen Microelectronics Development
A new center led by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) could accelerate the next revolution in microchips, the tiny silicon components used in everything from smartphones to smart speakers, life-saving medical devices, and electric cars. The new center, called CHiPPS - or the Center for High Precision Patterning Science - is led by Berkeley Lab microelectronics expert Ricardo Ruiz. He is also a staff scientist in Berkeley Lab's nanoscience user facility, the Molecular Foundry.
