Unelected Premier Jeremy Rockliff faces yet another test of his leadership this weekend with the Liberal Party's state council to decide the party's new state President. One candidate for Saturday's vote is Clarence Mayor Brendan Blomeley, who was recently forced by the Liberals State Director Peter Coulston to remove his campaign pitch video from the internet. In the video* Mr Blomeley warned that the party was at a crossroads, in need of "capable, professional leadership" and made it clear he did not support Rockliff's position on the Voice or transgender rights.
