Positive result for EPA against pumping company
A Preston company has been fined $12,000 after the sharp eyes of the local community members reported its actions to EPA Victoria. Investigations started in February 2020 after reports from locals came into EPA of a white sludge seeping into a stormwater drain that emptied into Darebin Creek. Officers investigated and traced the source to Positive Pumping of Kerr St, Preston. In Preston Magistrates Court, the Magistrate fined Positive Pumping $12,000. EPA North Metropolitan Regional Manager Jeremy Settle said the potential effect on a creek, even from a common substance like concrete can be destructive.
