Kingfisher split its first two games Thursday in the Highway 33 Classic softball tournament. The Lady Jackets opened pool play on their main field with a 10-1 victory against Watonga before falling later in the day to defending champ Dibble, 9-1. KHS had one game remaining Friday in pool play (after press time) before the tournament wrapped up Saturday. KHS was set to play Piedmont JV in the final pool play game. Piedmont's varsity softball team is the defending Class 5A champion and is 11-0 so far this season.
