$1m contribution means less pain for Wairoa over rates rises
Wairoa rates rises will not be as bad as first feared, after Wairoa District Council received a record $1.05 million contribution from roading company Quality Roading and Services (QRS). The record dividendĀ is subject to completion of the final 2023 audited statutory accounts and the QRS board of directors then executing the appropriate documentation. QRS board chairman Guy Gaddum said the board was unanimous in its decision that it wanted to do the right thing by the people of Wairoa. 'It's been a tough year for so many in the community and we are all faced with new challenges.
